4 Days Alone in a Caravan (Episode 13)

Leave a Comment | Timothy Lester

I found myself alone in our caravan. It is at place called Matarangi,  Matarangi has a rare north facing Pacific beach. I was the to allow a guy to paint said caravan. It gave me some time to think and pray and ruminate on the scriptures. As a result there are a little tweaking I want to share with you.

The Parkinson’s Progress (Episode 4)

Leave a Comment | Timothy Lester

This begins with an explanation of the new podcast name “The Parkinson’s Progress”. That is the broadcast’s name and it is presenting “the Following.” That is followed with a brief look at the challenges we may find along the way.

I have always been one of those people who puts bad news in my pants pocket and then throw the pants away when they need a wash.
Around twelve years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. I told a very small number of people in Oklahoma and close family. My mother’s siblings, if you tried to tell them bad news, would likely reply, here let me have those pants and I’ll burn them for you. Absolutely fine with me.
I told virtually no one in New Zealand, not even the church I was pastoring. The fact was that it really changed everything. From that first day, every other day has involved grabbing Kitty and dancing with Parky.
That dancing recently led to me to begin a new facet in ministry. Today I’m launching a podcast based ministry called, ‘The Parkinson’s Progress.” It will be a Jesus based ministry and not a Parkinson’s based ministry. I was going to call it “In Spite of Parkinson’s.” Kitty wisely suggested that wasn’t the right tone.
The truth is behind God, Kitty, the Kids and until two days ago the Thunder, Parkinson’s is the most domineering influence in my life.
There you have it.

You can help us by passing on the podcast “Timothy Lester’s The Following.”
